Abstract

Thesis Program for Study of Indonesian Language and Literature Faculty of Vocational and Educational Sciences of Riau Islamic University Instructor: Desi Sukenti, S.Pd., M.Ed ABSTRACT Phrase is a linguistic unit that is a combination of words having a non-predictitious nature or one element that fills a syntax function, one of which is in an opinion in online news. Phrases that make up opinions should pay attention to the equivalence of their functions that are distinguished into two types: endoesentric and exocentric phrases. The problem in this study is (1) How is the endocentric phrase found in Haluanriau.co online news? (2) How is the exocentric phrase found in the online news Haluanriau.co? The research aims to find out, describe, and analyze endocentric and exocentric phrases in Haluanriau.co's online news opinion. The approach used is qualitative, this type of research includes library research and the method used is descriptive with a research technique called hermeneutics. The data used by this study are words found in online news. Based on research done by the authors concluded that 1) The endocentric phrase found in online news haluanriau.co is 39 data 2) The exocentric phrase in online news haluanriau.co has 33 phrases.
