Abstract

Every athlete has the desire and demands to be able to achieve the best performance in every event he participates in. These desires and demands actually have the same goal, therefore athletes need to do incentivized training to achieve these goals. This study focuses on how stress relates to psychology well being in swimming athletes in Bintan district. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of stress to psychology well being in swimming athletes in Bintan Regency. The number of subjects of this study was 48 athletes in Bintan Regency using saturated sampling techniques. Stress and psychology well being in this study were measured using the Likert Scale. Data analysis techniques using spearman rho statistics. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between stress and psychology well being in swimming athletes in Bintan district. This is shown by spearman correlation values of r = -0.437 and p = 0.002 (p<0.05). That is, the higher the stress, the lower the level of psychology well being in swimming athletes in Bintan Regency. Conversely, the lower the stress, the higher the level of psychology well being in swimming athletes in Bintan Regency.
