Abstract

Some individuals are able to solve their problems well, while some of these individuals are sometimes unable to solve the problems they are facing. The inability to solve problems causes emotions to arise that affect the way people think about those feelings and how to act. Channeling emotions can be done in a positive way can also be negative way. Channeling in a negative way, one of which is by hurting himself (self-injury). The purpose of this study was to determine the description of self-injury in early adulthood. This study used a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The subject of this research is someone who is in early adulthood. Based on the results of this study, it is illustrated that both subjects and this research have a picture of self-injury, where they have experiences with painful families, the way of education and the psychological dynamics of the two subjects. Based on this research, it was illustrated that the two subjects in this study had different forms of self-injury in terms of past experiences, ways of educating families and the forms of self-injury that were carried out.
