Abstract

Students experience changes in the teaching and learning system, as well as the demands of more difficult assignments, since entering college compared to high school. Student self-efficacy is the ability of students to carry out their duties to achieve their goals. Beliefs in students influence how students think, feel, motivate themselves and act. This study aims to determine the description of self-efficacy in learning in new students at the Faculty of Psychology, Islamic University of Riau. This research is a quantitative research that aims to know the description or description between variables. The sample in this study were 187 new students at the Faculty of Psychology, Islamic University of Riau. The scale to be used in this study is The College Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (CASES). Based on the results of research conducted on self-efficacy in learning for new students at the Faculty of Psychology, Riau Islamic University, students have high self-efficacy of 43.3%. This can be seen from students who are confident in lectures majoring in Psychology at Riau Islamic University. Students are able to follow existing learning, students are able to give their best abilities in learning and students get good grades in lectures.
