Abstract

This study aims to encourage students' reading interest, but in fact, students' reading interest is still low. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study research. The School Literacy Movement not only includes reading and writing activities, but also involves the ability to think according to the stages and components of literacy. In practice, it is important to understand the principles of the School Literacy Movement and implement implementation strategies so that schools can become pioneers in promoting literacy culture. The strategies for implementing the School Literacy Movement can be applied daily, weekly, monthly, and semesterly with the aim of stimulating students' interest in reading so that they can master knowledge well. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study research. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The reading material provided includes cultural values, local, national, and global wisdom that are adapted to the development of students. The process of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the School Literacy Movement is carried out by referring to the achievement indicators of each stage of activity. The aim is to understand the extent to which the School Literacy Movement can be a solution in overcoming literacy problems and how it can have a positive impact on students and literacy culture in Indonesia.
