Abstract

This preliminary research aims to obtain initial data that will be used as a basis for developing organic chemistry teaching modules containing research results for chemistry education students. This research uses the ADDIE development model which is carried out up to the Analysis stage with steps in the form of Curriculum analysis and RPS (Semester Learning Plan), Lecturer Analysis, and Student Analysis. Based on the results of the curriculum and RPS analysis, organic chemistry course was presented in two semesters, namely Organic Chemistry 1 and Organic Chemistry 2, which generally consisted of 10 main materials. The results of interviews with teaching lecturers stated that the teaching materials used were still in the form of PPT, while the results of student analysis stated that as many as 52,6% of students stated that the teaching materials used by lecturers did not meet students' needs in understanding learning material. As many as 84.2% of students need other teaching materials to better understand the material in organic chemistry courses. Based on these data, it can be concluded that it is necessary to develop teaching materials in the form of integrated modules of research results for chemistry education students.
