Abstract

Cultural Adaptation in Differences Beliefs Akit Tribal Families in Sokop Village Meranti Islands Districts Nazatul Shadilla 209110288 This study examines the cultural adaptation process in interfaith families of the Akit Tribe in Sokop Village, Meranti Islands Districts. The research aims to deeply understand the cultural adaptation process and identify factors influencing it. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation from three Akit families with different religious beliefs, as well as key informants such as traditional leaders and the Village Secretary. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman technique. The results show that cultural adaptation involves three main dimensions: cognitive, affective, and behavioral. Akit families demonstrate high self-awareness, positive self-concept, open-mindedness, and good social skills in facing religious differences. Factors influencing the adaptation process include open communication, tolerance, shared values, flexibility in ritual practices, the role of tradition, participation in interfaith celebrations, and education and social environment. The study concludes that Akit families successfully adapt to religious differences through a combination of strong cultural awareness, positive attitudes, and flexible behavior, enabling them to maintain family harmony and cultural integrity.
