Abstract

The psychological well-being of nurses is crucial for enhancing the quality of public healthcare systems. Conflict arise from an imbalance between roles at work and at home, often leading to excessive stress that results in burnout and negatively affects psychological well-being. This study aims to identify the influence of work-family conflict and burnout on the psychological well-being among nurses in Dumai City. The population of this study consists of 843 nurses, with a sample of 200 nurses selected using cluster random sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires distributed via Google Form and paper surveys. The research instrument uses three scales, namely: the WFCS contains 24 items, the MBI contains 22 items, and the RPWB contains 42 items. This study employs a quantitative approach and multiple linear regression analysis with the aid of statistical software (SPSS Statistics 24.0 for Windows). Based on the statistical analysis results, it is found that there is an effect of work-family conflict on psychological well-being with R = 0.088; p < 0.05, hypothesis accepted. There is also an effect of burnout on psychological well-being with R = 0.068; p < 0.05, hypothesis accepted. Additionally, there is an effect of work-family conflict and burnout together on psychological well-being with R = 0.109; p < 0.05, hypothesis accepted. This analysis indicates the importance for nurses to balance their work environment and engage in selfintervention, such as stress management training, obtaining social support, and pursuing career development.
