Abstract

Based on Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Republic of Indonesia Police, Article 2 regulates the roles and functions of the Republic of Indonesia Police. One of the crimes of particular concern at the Rumbai Pesisir Police is the crime of theft with violence which has occurred in 4 cases since 2020 and 2 cases have not been resolved. In this study the authors wanted to find out what factors influenced the crime of theft by violence and what countermeasures were taken by the Rumbai Coastal Police in resolving this case. This thesis research uses a descriptive method in which the writer describes the events and results of the research using sentences that are easy to digest and easy for readers to understand. The data collection method used by the author is by direct interviews with sources related to this case, field observations to observe cases that occur and by studying literature using books, journals and previous research that discusses this criminal case. The results obtained in this study are that there are 4 factors that influence the perpetrators to commit these crimes, namely economic factors, personal problem factors, lifestyle factors and unemployment factors. In the effort to deal with this crime, preventive, repressive and curative efforts were carried out by the Rumbai Pesisir Police.
