Abstract

CO2 injection is a promising method for renewing shale oil reservoirs besides primary production. One of the most widely used enhanced oil recovery methods worldwide is CO2 injection. As musch as 40% of the oil obtained is by CO2 injection mixture. CO2 miscible injection is a proven improved oil recovery technique. To achieve miscibility conditions, a large injection pressure is required depending on the reservoir pressure, reservoir temperature, oil composition and gas composition injected. The miscible precess is the injection of driving fluid which will be mixed with the oil to be produced. The role of CO2 is to increase the solubility of oil to make it easier to rise to the surface of the earth. This investigation was carried out using the Petrel 2014 software which determined the optimum conditions for the DK-063 well. The oil production obtained at the time of water injection was 206.26 STB/d and after CO2 injection by changing the salinity, CO2 injection concentration and initial pressure, the optimum results were obtained at a pressure of 5450.77 psi and an oil production of 2618291.75 STB.
