Abstract

The arch bridge at Riau Islamic University is the main transportation access to the Faculty of Communication Sciences. Immediately we see that the bridge structure looks safe. Therefore, in this study, SHMS (Structural Health Monitoring System) was applied to determine the resistance of structural elements which aims to evaluate the Finite Element model in arch bridge structures at the Islamic University of Riau. In evaluating a structural element by detecting damage (damage detection) in this study the FEMU (Finite Element Model Updating) method was used which is a technique to improve the accuracy of the analytical model by comparing field measurement data with the numerical simulation results of the model. The results of the recorded structural response data were obtained and processed using the G-Link 200 USB accelerometer and the data was loaded into the ARTeMIS and FEMtools MATLAB programs to produce structural modal parameters. The parameters that were updated, namely in the form of the elastic modulus for the bridge structure updating model, it was concluded that the updating model was carried out based on natural frequency and shape mode on the FE pre-test compared to the FE test results on the 5th repetition obtained Shape mode with a blue indicator which on this blue indicator illustrates that the bridge has not/has not decreased in ability and is still able to operate besides this is also determined based on the difference between the magnitude of the actual frequency and the theoretical frequency which has a difference of 0.5885 Hz
