Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of learning media assisted by Macromedia Flash 8 on the material of distance, time and speed for grade V students of SD Negeri 17 Pekanbaru by considering the assessment of six experts consisting of two material experts, two linguists and two design experts and useful for knowing the responses of teachers and students regarding the learning media that has been developed. This study uses a research and development method that adopts the Addie development model which has been simplified into four stages, namely analysis, design, development and implementation. The data collection instruments in this study are in the form of interview sheets for needs analysis, validation questionnaires to test validity and teacher and student response questionnaires to test practicality. Learning media is developed and validated by experts, the results of expert validation are used to make revisions and improvements to the learning media until the media is declared valid for use. After validation, the pilot test was conducted on fifth grade students of SDN 17 Pekanbaru. Data from validation and trial results were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings of this study produced a product in the form of learning media assisted by Macromedia Flash 8 on distance, time and speed material that can be used in elementary school students. With an average value of validation from linguists (96.67%), material experts (92.00%), and design experts (87.27%), each of which is categorized as very valid. The overall final average value of the six validators is 91.98% with a very valid category so that field trials can be carried out. The limited scale trial assessment of the teacher's response obtained a score of 91.76% with a very practical category and the average value of the responses of six students received a score of 100% with a very practical category. Learning media assisted by Macromedia Flash 8 on distance, time and speed material is valid and practical to use in the learning process.
