Abstract

Flourishing is one of the concepts studied in positive psychology. Flourishing is synonymous with high levels of mental well-being and symbolizes mental health. One of the factors that is assumed to influence flourishing is patience. Patience is known to be realized when individuals have a close relationship with God. Proximity to God can be obtained through self-involvement in religious activities such as recitation. Quantitatively, it is known that the recitation activities are dominated by the presence of mothers. This study aims to determine the effect of patience on the flourishing of mothers who attend recitation. The research subjects amounted to 125 respondents. The sampling technique used is snowball sampling. The data collection method used was the Three-Factor Patience Questionnaire (3- FPQ) with 11 items, and the PERMA Profiler scale, which totaled 23 items. Data analysis used Partial Least Square (PLS) with smartPLS 3.0 M3 software. The results showed that patience has a positive and significant influence on flourishing with a path coefficient value of 0.314 with a p value of 0.000 <0.05 and a calculated t value of 0.364. This shows that the higher the level of patience, the higher the level of flourishing for mothers who attend recitation, and vice versa.
