Abstract

Conventional building construction produces a negative impact on the environment. The energy required to build, operate and maintain conventional buildings creates a large carbon footprint, so it is necessary to apply the green building concept. The purpose of this study was to test how effective the performance of Mako Lanal Dumai Command Building was, especially on the criteria for saving energy, water and materials, and also provide optimization recommendations for criteria that did not meet green building standards according to the EDGE application. The method used in this study uses a quantitative method by simulating it through the EDGE 3.0 application. The research was conducted by collecting secondary data from the selected research object, namely the Mako Lanal Dumai Building. The secondary data used is in the form of working drawings (as built drawings), 3D Sketchup documents and other supporting documents. Secondary data processing uses the AutoCAD and SketchUp application programs and the EDGE 3.0 green building assessment tool. From the research results according to the EDGE 3.0 application, the Mako Lanal Command Building obtained energy efficiency results of 23.83%, water efficiency of 15.40%, and energy efficiency in material elements of 35.09%. The building optimization recommendations given are adding urinals in the men's toilet area and replacing the sink faucets in the toilet area and dishwashing taps. The final result after optimiziing the water efficiency is 20,25%.
