Abstract
This study is motivated by the problem of student learning independence in grade VIII at MTs Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. This study aims to investigate the level of mastery of the heutagogy method at MTs Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru, to investigate the level of student learning independence and to investigate whether there is an influence of the heutagogy method on student learning independence. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The subject of the study is all students in grade VIII at MTs Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. The object of the study is the heutagogy method on student learning independence at MTs Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. The population of the study consists of 131 students with a sample of 98 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the data analysis results, it is known that the level of mastery of the heutagogy method of the teacher of Aqidah Akhlak is 0.8795 or 87.95% which is in a very high category. It is known that the level of student learning independence is 0.8780 or 87.80% which is in a very high category. It is known that there is an influence of the heutagogy method on student learning independence. It is known that the results of simple linear regression analysis with a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05 so that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The influence of the heutagogy method is 66.5% with a very strong category. While the remaining 33.5% is influenced by other factors. It is predicted that if the heutagogy method is applied, it can increase the student learning independence by 0.941 or 94.1%.
