Abstract

This research was supervised by Prof. Dr. H. Detri Karya, SE, M.A and Dr. Ir. Saipul Bahri, M. Ec. Poklahsar Serana Hidup is one of the processing and marketing groups engaged in fish-based agro-industry. Poklahsar Serana Hidup has several problems or constraints in production planning. These problems are limited capital, raw materials and labour hours. The purpose of this study is to analyse: 1) characteristics of group members and profiles of fish-based agro-industry businesses, 2) analysis of agro-industry businesses, 3) optimisation of production and 4) efforts to improve agro-industry businesses. The study used a survey method with a sample of fish-based agro-industrial businesses using the census method. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and linear programming. The results showed that based on the characteristics of group members, the age of most members was at productive age. The education level of members is dominated by junior high school with the number of family members mostly numbering more than 4 people with more than 11 years of business experience. Poklahsar Serana Hidup is a small-scale group business with processed products such as fish crackers, shrimp paste, dried shrimp, salted fish and smoked fish. The largest production is shrimp paste at 195kg and the lowest production is dried shrimp at 140kg. The largest business efficiency value is dried shrimp with an RCR of 2.99 and the lowest is fish crackers at 1.61. The largest value-added ratio is fish crackers (58.93%) and the lowest is salted fish (30.69). The profit generated from the optimisation results is IDR 56,153,760, - The difference between optimal and actual profit is 8.59%. Poklahsar Serana Hidup is expected to provide business training, sanitation hygiene, use food labels and safe packaging, manage stocks of raw materials and supporting materials in addition to utilising IT personnel and recording financial administration more neatly and regenerating members who are no longer productive.
