Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine and analyze the influence of cultural knowledge on the assessment of teachers' writing skills in Madrasah schools in Indonesian language subjects. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation approach. This research involved 50 samples. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, documentation and data analysis techniques using normality, descriptive and simple linear regression tests. The research results show that the level of understanding and mastery of Malay cultural knowledge possessed by Madrasah teachers in Pekanbaru City and the assessment of teachers' writing skills are in the high category. The results of other research also show that there is an influence of cultural knowledge on the assessment of teachers' writing skills in Madrasah schools in Indonesian language subjects with a significance value of 0.000. Furthermore, the size of the effect is moderate (0.664 or 66.4%). It can be said that knowledge of Malay culture influences the assessment of teachers' skills in learning Indonesian. This research has implications for the theory of developing writing skills assessment.
