Abstract

Improving singing ability in vocal exercise courses using the drill method. The problem behind this research is that the level of singing ability of students still needs to be improved. The formulation of the problems in this study are (I) How is the application of the drill method to improve students' singing ability in the choir (2) how is the improvement of students' singing ability in the choir. This research is a descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. The data collection techniques through observation, interviews documentation and tests. This research is a class-action-research (PTK) which is divided into two cycles. Each cycle is carried out with the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that the drill method can improve students' singing ability. based on the results of research in cycle I only 55% of students who reached the category of good, and very good scores (>70) then increased in the results of research in cycle 2 by reaching the success indicator that 80% of students have reached good, and very good scores p>70). student behavior also has positive changes in the training process.
