Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of finding out the effectiveness of the recess activities held by the Siak Regency DPRD, Electoral District 1 using descriptive qualitative research methods. From the research results obtained both from activities in the field and interviews with several sources, it can be concluded that: This recess activity is an activity DPRD members outside the session with the aim of absorbing aspirations from the community to be made into regional government policy. The recess period follows the trial period which is held 3 (three) times a year or 14 recesses in the 5 year period of the DPRD term of office which are held no later than six working days as one of the occasions for official meetings between DPRD members and constituents. by DPRD members individually or in groups to visit their electoral districts to absorb people's aspirations.
