Abstract
Everyone must have the ability to read and must learn it from an early age. However, all students have different reading comprehension skills. AKM can be used to assess reading comprehension. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the reading comprehension of fifth grade students . The subjects in this study were 20 grade V students at SDN 114 who took the Reading Literacy AKM test. In solving AKM literacy questions, students can use an effective strategy, namely by solving easy questions first. Results showed that students' reading skills were classified according to the percentage of questions answered correctly. The categories are divided into four ie. very good, good, fair and not so good. The result of the study was that there were 3 students with a 15% percentage in the excellent category, 13 students with a 65% percentage in the adequate category and 4 students with a 20% percentage in the lowest category. This program provides insight into students' reading skills and can be used as an assessment tool to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
