Abstract
The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is an instrument used to assess the level of reading ability of students in Indonesia and compare it with national standards. AKM has an important role in helping students develop their skills in designing learning frameworks, with a focus on improving critical thinking skills and reading literacy. Participation in AKM is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of education in Indonesia. The method applied in this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. The selection of case studies was carried out with the aim of understanding the reading literacy skills of students at State elementary School (SDN) 001 Japura, Lirik District. The research results cover three cognitive levels, namely the ability to find information, understanding and evaluating AKM reading literacy questions. This is proven by the results of students' work on AKM reading literacy questions. This research provides a comprehensive picture of students' reading literacy abilities at elementary school level, which can be used as evaluation material to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process
