Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship between the application of ice breaking and the learning interest of class V students at SDN 17 Pekanbaru. This research uses quantitative methods with a correlation research type. The population in this study was 130 students with a research sample of 57 students. Data collection techniques in this research were taken using questionnaires and interviews. The instruments used were created based on ice breaking indicators and interest in learning. To find out the relationship between the application of ice breaking and interest in learning in class V students at SDN 17 Pekanbaru, researchers used product moment person correlation data analysis. The results of this research indicate that there is a relationship between the application of ice breaking and students' interest in learning. This can be seen from the significant correlation test between ice breaking and students' interest in learning at SDN 17 Pekanbaru. With the correlation test results rcount > rtable, namely 0.278 > 0.266 at the 5% significance level. And has a significant value of 0.036 <0.05. This means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha), namely "there is a relationship between the implementation of ice breaking and the interest in learning of class V students at SDN 17 Pekanbaru" is accepted. There is also a negative relationship between ice breaking and interest in learning, meaning that the lower the application of ice breaking, the lower the student's interest in learning.
