Abstract
As a teenager, you will always want to fulfill your needs in terms of shopping and make purchases that are irrational and only prioritize desires. Another factor that supports this consumerist lifestyle is that it is increasingly easy to shop through online stores. So good self-control is needed, in order to limit consumer lifestyles. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between self-control and student consumption behavior in online shopping. The data collection method uses the Self-Control scale and the Consumptive Behavior scale. The sample for this research was 206 Psychology faculty students. The sampling technique uses the Simple Random Sampling technique. The data analysis method used is Spearman rank correlation. The results of the data analysis obtained showed a correlation coefficient value of -0.427 with a significance level of 0.000 at a confidence level of 0.05. From the calculation results, it is obtained that the significance is 0.00 < ? 0.05, so accept H0. This means that there is a negative relationship between self-control and consumer behavior.
