Abstract

Circumstances accompanied by stress experienced by parents of children with special needs will make parents feel less prosperous or decrease Subjective WellBeing. One thing that can influence Subjective Well-Being is gratitude. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between gratitude and Subjective Well-Being in parents who have children with special needs. The samples taken in this study were all parents whose children were undergoing therapy at one of the therapies called the Autism Service Center (PLA), totaling 70 people and sampling used a non-probability sampling technique, namely saturated sampling. The gratitude scale was adapted from the Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6) consisting of 6 items. Subjective Well-Being is measured using 2 satisfaction with life scales and a scale of positive and negative experiences consisting of 5 items and 20 items. The data analysis technique uses SEM with a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach with smartPLS 3.0 M3 software. Based on the research results, the path coefficient value of the influence of gratitude on Subjective Well-Being is 0.760 with a p value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a calculated t value of 16.882. So it can be concluded that gratitude has a positive and significant effect on Subjective Well-Being, so the hypothesis is accepted. This shows that the higher the gratitude, the higher the level of Subjective Well-Being in parents who have children with special needs, and vice versa
