Abstract
This study aims to determine the increase in Numeration Literacy Ability of Junior High School Students in Solving SMPN 3 XIII Koto Kampar Story Problems. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative methods. The subjects in this study were 30 students of SMPN 3 XIII Koto Kampar for the 2023/2024 school year. The results of this study show that the Numeration Literacy Ability of Junior High School Students in Solving Story Problems at SMPN 3 XIII Koto Kampar is Very Good. Students can already use knowledge to solve problems and solve constitutional problems. Through the tests conducted, students can already interpret problems and solve them with formulas. Of the five story questions presented, students can carry out procedures well in solving questions and are able to choose strategies in solving problems on the questions. In addition, students also work effectively with models and can select and integrate different representations, then relate a problem to everyday life. Through material direction from the teacher, students can work with models for complex situations and can solve complex problems. From the overall results of the story problem, students have used reasoning in solving a mathematical problem, making generalizations, formulating and then communicating all the findings.
