Abstract

This research aims to examine how interpersonal communication between Karang Taruna youth maintains the solidarity of Tanah Datar Village. Interpersonal communication is important for an individual in interacting with other people. Interpersonal communication is communication that involves using words and ideas to understand oneself, control emotions, and make decisions. Knowing yourself tries to guide yourself to be able to interact with other people in communicating to improve your self-concept, because communication will have good understanding if it starts from within yourself. We can see how interpersonal communication activities work between teenagers and Karang Taruna members. In Tanah Datar Village there are currently 35 Karang Taruna members, each of whom has a specific task. As members of Karang Taruna, they are very reliable in carrying out their duties, according to the head of the organization in Tanah Datar, Tapung Hulu District, Kampar Regency. Strong interpersonal ties between youth and Karang Taruna members will be obtained by good interpersonal communication, especially at organizational events, so that it will foster a sense of friendship among the group's youth. So far, researchers have studied the extent to which the attitudes of certain teenagers and young people living in Karang Taruna Tanah Datar Village, especially in their daily lives, researchers used qualitative methods with observation methods by interviewing 6 people, namely the Chairman of Karang Taruna, the Secretary of Karang Taruna and several members.
