Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF FAMILY ENVIRONMENT ON STUDENTS’ RELIGIOUS CHARACTERS AT SMP IT INSAN UTAMA 2 PEKANBARU SITI NURHALIZA 192410349 This study aims to investigate the influence of family environment on students’ religious characters at SMP It Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru. This is a quantitative correlational study. The subject of the study is the students at SMP IT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru and the object of the study is the influence of family environment on students’ religious characters at SMP IT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru. The population of the study consists of 57 students, because the total population is less than 100 so the entire population is taken as a sample. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis, it is found that there is a significant influence of the family environment (X) on the students’ religious characters (Y) at SMP IT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru. According to the results of ANOVA, the significance value is less than 0.05, or 0.000 <0.05, it means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Furthermore, based on the results of the coefficient value (R) of 0.983, it means that the relationship between the family environment and the students’ religious characters is 0.983 or 98.8%, which is included in the category of very strong based on the correlation coefficient interval table because the value of R (0.983) is in the range 0.80 - 1.000. So, the relationship between the family environment and the students’ religious characters is very strong. In addition, the results of the study also show that the coefficient value (R-Squared) of 0.966 (96.6%), it means that the religious character is influenced by the family environment at SMP IT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru by 96.6% which is in the coefficient interval of 0.80-1.000 or included in the very strong category.
