Abstract
Porous asphalt is an asphalt mixture with a low proportion of fine aggregate to produce high pore space. In this research, the added material used to improve the stability of porous asphalt mixture is Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP). The use of RAP when heated will become smaller. This is because the small particles of RAP can fill the gaps in the asphalt mixture. In addition, it can reduce dependence on natural raw materials which are increasingly limited, and reduce production costs in the construction of roads that are more environmentally friendly and economical. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum asphalt content of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) as a fine aggregate additive to porous asphalt mixtures and to determine the effect of adding Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) as a fine aggregate additive to porous asphalt mixtures. This research method was carried out experimentally in the laboratory of PT Virajaya Riauputra which refers to the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) 2004 Specifications. Based on the results of the study, the optimum asphalt content of 4.7% was obtained. The percentage of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) addition as fine aggregate additive is 0%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, and 4.5%. The VMA and VIM values decreased as the RAP mixture increased. In the value of stability parameters, the greater the percentage of additional use of RAP, the value of stability increases, namely 633.3 kg, 607.7 kg, 754.8 kg, 767.6 kg, and 786.8 kg. Flow values in this study decreased as the RAP mixture increased but still met the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) 2004 specification standards with the highest value of 4.43 mm and the lowest value of 3.67 mm.
