Abstract
Indonesia is a country that uses concrete as a building material in construction design. Increasing the need for concrete in civil engineering in Indonesia, then undertaking the development of substituted concrete forming material to reduce the material that is less and less available, one of which by using concrete mixture with material from the sandblasting activity that is garnet sand. Sandblasting is a sand that is used for an activity or process of smoothing, forming and cleaning hard surfaces by firing high-speed fine particles to the surface. This study aims to find out the influence of strong pressure values between concrete mixed sandblasting garnets with normal concrete, and the percentage of optimum use of sandblasting garnets on concrete. The research method is based on the standardization of SNI 7656-2012 with the quality of the K-200 plan. The test objects were cylindrical concrete with dimensions of 15 x 30 cm with variations of the mixture of sandblasting garnets of 0%, 10%, 12%, and 14% against the weight of sand with a total of 12 samples. The results of the study showed about sandblasting garnets with variation of 0%, 10%, 12% and 14%, as a partial substitute for sand against strong concrete pressure at the lifetime of the test object 28 days in a row are 22.1 Mpa, 17 MPa, 16.3 MPa and 14.7 MPa. From the results of this research data it can be concluded that the sand blending garnets have experienced a decrease from normal concrete, but at the percentage of 10% and 12% have already met the quality planned with the strongest maximum pressure of 17Mpa, for the researchers to use a further mix of addictive materials and different cement to obtain higher and more constant results.
