Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the level of physical condition of female Riau handball athletes in preparation for PON XXI Aceh – North Sumatra 2024. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population and sample in this study were female handball athletes from Riau in preparation for PON XXI Aceh – North Sumatra 2024, totaling 14 people. The research instruments used were physical condition tests for handball athletes, namely the hand dynamometer test, arm and shoulder muscle endurance test, 50 meter running test, shuttle run agility test, and 15 minute running test. The data analysis technique used is calculating categories of physical condition values. Based on the results of the calculation of the average physical condition scores that have been carried out on athletes, it is known that the level of physical condition of Riau Women's handball athletes in preparation for the 2024 PON XXI Aceh – North Sumatra is 4.9 which is classified in the Fair category.
