Abstract
The background of the study is the low morals of students at SMPN 4 Siak Kecil, Bengkalis. The signs that the researcher found in society, such as the students often behave inappropriately, they often behave impolitely, rude, reluctant to respect other people, and so on. Some of their behaviours, such as skipping school, speeding on the highway, socializing too freely, bullying, forming communities or motorbike gangs, and others that have become problems and sparked public concern. Apart from that, the occurrence of moral degradation or moral decline in students is an ironic and very worrying reality. This is a quantitative study with a population of 153 students at SMPN 4 Siak Kecil, Bengkalis. There are two variables of the study, namely variable X (Personality Competence of Islamic Studies Teachers) and variable Y (Students’ Morals). Based on the descriptive test, it is found that the level of personality competence of Islamic Studies teachers is 70.4%, which is in the range of 60% - 79.9%, it means that the personality competence level of Islamic Studies teachers is 70.4%, which is considered “good” . The result of students’ moral is 69.6%, which is in the range of 60% - 79.9%. It means that the students’ moral is 69.6% and it is also considered “good”. The results of correlation coefficient test show that the students’ morals (Y) have an influence of 42.1% on the personality competence of Islamic Studies teachers (X). Meanwhile, the remaining 100% - 42.1%= 57.9% is the influence by other factors.
