Abstract

The Qur'an is the last holy book revealed by Allah Almighty to the Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. through the angel Jibril. It was conveyed to us sequentially, starting with surah Al-Fatihah and closing with surah An-Nas. The aim of the study is to increase the students’ Qur’an memorization in grade 5 at SDIT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru through the application of murajaah method. The problem formulation of the study is the students’ Qur’an memorization in grade 5 at SDIT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru which is still low and it does not meet the completeness criteria. The type of the study is classroom action research (CAR) conducted in 2 cycles. The subject of the study consists of 29 students in grade 5. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the students’ Qur’an memorization in the pre-cycle only reached 24%, then it kept increasing after applying the murajaah method in cycle I to cycle II. It can be seen from the students’ Qur'an memorization test, the results of students Qur’an memorization classically in cycle I obtained an average percentage of 66%, but in cycle II the students Qur’an memorization classically experienced an increase with an average percentage of 83%. In conclusion, the application of the Murajaah method is very good to apply because it can increase the students’ Qur’an memorization in grade 5 at SDIT Insan Utama 2 Pekanbaru.
