Abstract

The aims of this study were to: (1) develop ecosystem material modules using the SETS approach at Pekanbaru State Senior High School, (2) determine the feasibility of ecosystem material modules using the SETS approach based on BSNP textbook assessment standards, (3) test the effectiveness of ecosystem material modules using the SETS approach on student learning outcomes, and (4) knowing the applicability of ecosystem material modules with the SETS approach in learning. This research is a Research and Development study with a pre-test posttest control group design. The results of the expert validation showed that the feasibility of the developed module obtained an average of 86% with very feasible criteria. While the results of the teacher's responses obtained a percentage of 97% and the results of student responses obtained a percentage of 86%, both of which were included in the very applicable criteria. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: (1) The development of biology modules on ecosystem material using the SETS approach developed by researchers consists of an introduction section, content sections, and closing sections. (2) Ecosystem material modules developed by researchers using the SETS approach are appropriate based on the BSNP textbook assessment standards. (3) Modules on ecosystem material with the SETS approach can effectively improve learning outcomes and student interest in learning.
