Abstract

The aim of this research is to contribute to knowing the explosive power of fitness muscles and the explosive power of arm muscles on smash ability in extracurricular men's volleyball games at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis-Siak. This type of research is multiple correlation. The population in this study was male extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis-Siak, totaling 20 men. The sampling technique used was total sampling so that the sample in this study was 20 people. The research instruments used were the vertical jump test, overhead drug test and smash ability test in volleyball. The data analysis technique used is the multiple correlation value test and calculating the contribution value. (1) There is a contribution to the explosive power of the smash skill in the extracurricular male student volleyball game at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis-Siak with a value of rcount = 0.513 > rtable = 0.444 and a KD value of 26.32%, (2) There is a contribution of the explosive power of the arm muscles to smash ability in extracurricular male students' volleyball games at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis-Siak with a value of rcount = 0.731 > rtable = 0.444 and a KD value of 53.44%. (3) There is a contribution of duration muscle explosive power and arm muscle explosive power to the smash ability in extracurricular male volleyball games at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis-Siak with a value of rcount = 0.736 > rtable = 0.444 and a KD value of 54.17%.
