Abstract

This research aims to analyze and determine the effectiveness of agricultural extension by the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) in Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research uses a quantitative descriptive research type using five research indicators, namely Program Understanding, Right on Target, On Time, Achievement of Goals and Real Change. The population used in this research is the Sentajo Raya District Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) Coordinator, Sentajo Raya Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) Agricultural Extension Workers and Members of the Sentajo Raya Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) Farmer Group. The sampling technique used is the Saturated Sampling Technique for Agricultural Extension Center Coordinators and Agricultural Extension Workers, then the Purposive Sampling Technique for Farmer Group Members. The types and techniques of data collection used consist of Primary Data using Questionnaires and Interviews and Secondary Data collected using Observation Techniques. Based on the data analysis technique used using a frequency table tool, it is possible to assess and conclude that the effectiveness of agricultural extension by the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) in Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency is "Quite Effective", because agricultural extension has been carried out well because it has helped Farmer activities are in accordance with farmers' needs, but this is less effective due to the lack of agricultural extension workers at BPP Sentajo Raya and also has an impact on the lack of implementation of agricultural instructors' duties in developing and improving farmer groups in Sentajo Raya District.
