Abstract

Law enforcement with the concept of restorative justice is understood as a form of approach to solving criminal cases by involving perpetrators, victims, families of perpetrators, families of victims, and other related parties to seek a fair solution by emphasizing restoring the situation as it was before and not retaliating. The implementation of restorative justice for criminal acts of theft at the Pelalawan District Attorney's Office aims to find out how criminal cases are resolved through restorative justice for criminal acts of theft and obstacles in carrying out restorative justice settlements at the Pelalawan District Attorney's Office. The main problem in this research is how to settle criminal cases through restorative justice for the crime of theft and how are the obstacles in implementing restorative justice for the crime of theft. This type of research is sociological legal research, namely research to obtain primary and secondary data. This research is descriptive in nature, describing criminal acts of theft that are resolved through restorative justice. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the settlement of criminal acts of theft through restorative justice can be pursued in 2 ways, namely implementing restorative justice peace efforts within the scope of the prosecutor's office and optimizing traditional institutions and social institutions in seeking peace on the litigants. after peace efforts are carried out it will produce legal consequences for the perpetrators, namely the release of charges if restorative justice is successful and can be in the form of relief in accordance with the judge's considerations if restorative justice fails.
