Abstract

This study aims to determine the existence of gubano badikiu in Pulau Gadang Village, XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The theory used in this study is the theory according to Soren Kierkegaard (in F. Budi Hardiman, 2007:251), which discusses about each existence or existence having a characteristic, which has been clarified into 3 stages, namely the aesthetic stage,the ethical stage, and religion (the religious stage). (1) the aesthetic stage, namely that aesthetic humans have a soul and lifestyle based on their personal, instinctive and feelings which do not want to be limited, (2) the ethical stage is that humans see norms as something that is needed in their lives, and (3) the religious stage discusses related to the stage of faith, namely the religious stage which is the highest stage. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Subjects in this study amounted to 4 people. The results of the research on the existence of gubano badikiu are as follows: (1) the existence of gubano badikiu art in the presentation of the aesthetic stage to entertain and enliven an event such as welcoming guests of honor, wedding processions, thanksgiving or celebrations, and other events, (2) the existence of gubano badikiu in the presentation of the ethical stage, namely conveying the mandate and messages through the poems conveyed so that people can apply the goodness in their daily lives, and (3) ) the existence of gubano badikiu in presenting the religious stage, which can shape one's character because the messages in the poem contain prayers that are examples or reflections of society . The purpose of this art is to cultivate religious arts activities in the midst of people who still lack knowledge about religion and traditions.
