Abstract

Paddy rice farming in Bungaraya District is one source of income for farmers, the yield is expected to be able to provide welfare for farmers. This study aims to analyze: 1) characteristics of farmers and paddy rice farming profiles; 2) cultivation techniques, the use of paddy rice production factors; 3) production costs, production, income and efficiency of paddy rice farming in Bungaraya District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this research is a survey method. The location selection was done purposively with 44 respondents selected at random (random sampling). This research was carried out in Bungaraya District, Siak Regency, Riau Province from May 2021 to October 2021. The location selection was carried out intentionally with a population of 2.106 farmers and 44 farmers were taken as respondents using the slovin formula with a percentage of 15%, The results showed: the average age of the farmer was 46 years, the level of education was still 10 years low (high school), the farmer was quite experienced for 7 years, the average number of dependents of the family was 3 people. The farm profile obtained by the average land area is 1.6 ha, the number of seeds used is 37.50 kg, the spacing used is 20×20 cm, and the varieties planted are Logawa, Inpari 42 and Ciherang varieties. Rice cultivation techniques applied by farmers are almost in accordance with theoretical recommendations. The use of production factors per farm: 37.50 kg of seeds, 154.32 kg of urea fertilizer, 93.63 kg of posca, 122.27 kg of KCl, 80.22 kg of TSP, 2.78 liters of abasel, 2.44 liters of regen, plenum 147.72 gr, while the average production of paddy rice is 7.6 tons/arable/MT. 3) The production cost of paddy rice farming in Bungaraya District is Rp. 14,935,959/garapan/MT, gross income obtained is Rp. 29,746,695/garapan/MT, while the net income was Rp. 14,810,736/garapan/MT, and obtained an RCR of 1.99, which means that paddy rice farming in Bungaraya District is profitable and feasible to cultivate.
