Abstract
Sungai Sitolang Village is the largest palm oil producer in Rambah Hilir District. The aim is to find out the characteristics of independent oil palm farming farmers, the technology of independent oil palm farming cultivation. As well as looking at the use of palm oil production factors, production costs, production, income and efficiency. This study used a survey method which was conducted from July 2020 to December 2020. The results showed (1) The average age of farmers is 45 years, the education level of farmers is 9 years, the length of farming experience is 11 years, the number of dependents of farmer families is 2 people and a farmer's land area of 2 hectares. (2) The technology used is a tractor. still using manual technology, still minimal use of modern technology. (3) The use of production factors for oil palm farming, the average cost of fertilizer is IDR 8,042,086/year, the cost of pesticides is IDR 401,744.78 IDR/Ha/year, the use of TKDK is 3.10 HOK/Ha and TKLK 11.47 HOK /Ha and Production 6,133 Kg/Ha/Year. Fixed costs Rp. 305,159 and variable costs Rp.9,900,462.96. Gross income of IDR 10,426,100/Ha/Year. Net income Rp.220,478.09/Ha/Year and farming efficiency value of 1.02
