Abstract
This paper aims to study the policy narratives put forward by actors in the media in influencing the policy process for controlling forest and land fires. Forest and land fires have become a global problem, so policies that directly address the problem are needed. Many actors and interest groups are trying to influence the policy-making of forest and land fire control. This paper refers to the Narrative Policy Framework theory, which states that narrative plays a role in the policy process by looking at policy problems, the character of the actors, and the policy solutions offered. Data is taken from reliable local and national media. Data relevant to the research is then collected using the Nvivo 12 plus application with the Ncapture feature. The study results found that the narratives put forward by policy actors who narrated policy problems and policy solutions to the media influenced policymaking for forest and land fire control.
