Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher’s concern for special abilities, especially children with autism. Children with autism are very different from most normal children. People with special abilities (or commonly known by the general public as people with special needs) were officially declared on December 3, 2019, with the slogan "We Care They Are Independent, We Believe They Are Powerful". Many children with autism experience difficulties in interacting and communicating with others. The purpose of this research is to be able to fully describe the meaning of the life experiences of some individuals who have experienced a certain phenomenon. In this case, it is the experience of a teacher with special abilities in carrying out their daily profession at Rumah Autis Depok. This research uses a qualitative method with an interpretive phenomenological analysis approach. Phenomenology as a research approach has been said to be descriptive, interpretative, and at the same time interesting because it tries to get the essence of an individual or a person's experience. Based on the results of research in the field, the meaning of teachers for children with autism is something very important and very difficult to replace, this is because if there are new people, children with autism usually need a long time to adapt. Children with autism's communication is divided into two, namely expressive and receptive communication. Expressive communication is nonverbal and verbal communication, while receptive communication is more understanding. In the sense here, what we instruct the child, he or she understands very well.
