Abstract

Currently, Islamic religious education in schools has faced various challenges especially regarding the character of students who are increasingly far from religious values, such as a lack of respect from students towards teachers. This can be seen from student behavior that does not heed the teacher's words, for example being lazy carrying out assignments given by the teacher. Often violates school rules even against the teacher's words. Therefore to prevent and reduce moral degradation among students at school, the Religious Education Teacher Islam at SD Negeri 019 Pandau Jaya forms a religious character to reduce the challenges of Islamic religious education. The aim of this research is to find out the PAI Teacher's efforts in forming the religious character of students in SD Negeri 019 Pandau Jaya, as well as to find out the supporting factors and obstacles to PAI Teachers' efforts in forming religious character in State Elementary Schools 019 Pandau Jaya. This research is qualitative in nature with a collection method data, interviews, observations, and documentation. It can then be presented in appropriate form so that it is easy to read and understand, then the data analyzed and conclusions drawn. Based on the research results, that effort carried out by PAI teachers in forming the religious character of students in elementary school Negeri 019 Pandau Jaya, namely: A. Providing students with an understanding of how the importance of religious character both when studying in class and outside the classroom. B. Make habits such as getting used to being honest, respecting teachers, worship, familiarization with Al-Qur'an literacy and others. C. Exemplary, apart from Being a teacher educator is also a role model for students good religious character in socializing with fellow teachers as well as with students, and in the learning process teachers also often tell stories exemplary Islamic figures who have a religious character.
