Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the contribution of leg muscle explosive power and running speed to the Long Jump Results of Class 2 A Physical Education Students. This type of research is correlational research. The population in this study was Physical Education Students Class 2 A FKIP Riau Islamic University, consisting of 23 people. The sampling technique was total sampling, so the number of samples was 23 people. The instruments used were the standing broad jump test, 30 meter sprint and long jump test. The conclusions of this research are: 1) There is a contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the long jump results of Class 2 A Physical Education Students. The calculated r value = 0.717. The coefficient of determination = 51.4%. 2) There is a contribution of running speed to the long jump results of Physical Education Students Class 2 A. The calculated r value = 0.425. The coefficient of determination = 18.1%. 3) There is a contribution of leg muscle explosive power and running speed to the long jump results of Class 2 A Physical Education Students, FKIP, Riau Islamic University. The calculated r value = 0.752. The coefficient of determination = 56.6%.
