Abstract
This research was motivated by the issue of students' Quran recitation abilities in the seventh grade at Islamic Junior High School Ummul Quro, such as reading with less fluency, stuttering, and imprecise application of tajweed rules and pronunciation of makhrijul huruf (articulation points), despite the teacher having explained the material well. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of the Qiroati method on the Quran recitation abilities of seventh-grade students at Islamic Junior High School Ummul Quro. The research design was quantitative with a correlation approach. The population for this study consisted of 50 students. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and documentation. This research involved two variables, X (Qiro’ati Method) and Y (Quran Recitation Ability). The hypothesis testing results indicated a value of 0.04 < 0.05, signifying an influence of the Qiroati method on the Quran recitation abilities of seventh-grade students at Islamic Junior High School Ummul Quro. The magnitude of the influence was observed in the summary table, with an R square value of 0.083 or 8.3%. This indicates that Quran recitation ability was influenced by the Qiro’ati method to the extent of 8.3%, categorized as very weak. Therefore, it could be concluded that the Qiro’ati method has an influence on the Quran recitation abilities of seventh-grade students at Islamic Junior High School Ummul Quro. Hence, it was crucial to further enhance Quran recitation instruction using the Qiro’ati method to improve students' Quran recitation abilities. Additionally, future researchers were encouraged to explore other methods to discover ways to enhance students' Quran recitation abilities beyond the Qiro’ati method used in this study.
