Abstract
This research is motivated by the desire for School and Community Communication in an Effort to Increase the Number of Students (Studies at SMP Country 3 Kuantan Mudik, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Communication and education here are very closely related because without communication, education will not run as well as desired. Education here is an important part of human life. Because humans learn to go to maturity in achieving a more meaningful life. The type of research conducted by the researcher is a qualitative descriptive type of research with interview data, observation and documentation. In this study, the researchers put more emphasis on looking at the communication made by the principal and the community in increasing the number of students. In school and community relations, there are also several types to help schools and the community by collaborating in educating students, so that this collaboration can make it easier for schools to influence parents and students to choose the school to continue their education. The results of the study indicate that in this study a communication strategy is needed to increase the number of students, because the communication strategy here is a unit that can be combined to achieve the goal. What the school itself does is to disseminate information to elementary schools by explaining the advantages of SMP Country 3 Kuantan Mudik, then by making banners or billboards that are installed in the community, where the banner contains the vision and mission or form of activities that have been carried out by SMP Country 3 Kuantan Mudik.
