Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the growth response of aloe vera plants (Aloe vera Linn) on peat soil media to the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) embio and doses of corn compost. This study was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Islam Riau, Pekanbaru City in December 2020-March 2021. The purpose of this study was to identify the interaction of growth responses of aloe vera on peat soil with concentrations of POC embio and corn compost. The research design is factorial RAL which includes two factors. The first factor was embio POC embio consisting of three levels, namely without embio POC, 30 ml and 60 ml per polybag. The second factor was corn compost at four levels, namely without corn compost, 150 g, 300 g and 450 g per polybag. Data analysis used the mathematical model of Variety Fingerprint Analysis and further tests were carried out using the Honest Significant Difference Test (HSD) at the 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, widest leaf width, longest leaf length, stem diameter, leaf weight and soil pH. The interaction of embio POC fertilizer and corn compost gave a real response to plant height, longest leaves, leaf width, leaf weight and stem diameter. The best treatment concentration was 60 ml of embio POC fertilizer and 450 g per polybag of corn compost
