Abstract
The fact that customary law is still adhered to and enforced within the customary law community of Bandar Petalangan District, Pelelawan Regency is essentially guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution that the State recognizes and respects customary law community units and their traditional rights as long as they are still alive and in accordance with community development and the principles of the Unitary State. Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to find out how the process and application of the customary law system in Bandar Petalangan District is in the settlement of the criminal law case of honey theft. This type of research is a descriptive research type with a qualitative research approach. The research location in this study was carried out in Bandar Petalangan District, Pelelawan Regency. The results of this study indicate that the stage of the customary law process carried out on notification to parents and families of the Honey Bee Theft Case in Bandar Petalangan District, Pelelawan Regency, follows the customary justice process and receives the sanctions given. The traditional shop will call parents or family for deliberation and through the customary process, sanctions will be set on the perpetrators to deter them from committing crimes. After the perpetrator carries out his sentence, it will be returned to the community as a person who is clean from crime and is able and accepted by the community to live socially in the area.
