Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Jering Bay Nature Tourism Object, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Empirically this natural tourism object has not received the attention of the Kampar District government. In theory this research uses development strategy theory according to Cooper in Sunaryo (2013: 159) which consists of attractions, accessibility, facilities, additional services and institutional authority. This research method was carried out using qualitative research methods, data collection techniques were carried out by field observations, interviews with informants namely the Kampar District government, tourist attraction managers, Village Heads, BPD Members, community leaders and visitors. The results of the study show that there is no development strategy undertaken by the Kampar district government in the natural tourist attraction of Jering Bay and the obstacles of this study indicate that the local community does not want this tourist attraction to be managed by the government because this will reduce the income for the local community and the absence of government policies used. as a legal basis for developing tourist objects. The conclusion of this study shows that the government of Kampar Regency has not yet developed a strategy for developing Jering Bay natural attractions. The suggestion of this research is that the government should provide access to housing and supporting facilities, foster local communities, regulate tourist areas and make regulations about the management of these attractions so that they are supported by local cultural activities
