Abstract

In the Consumer Protection Act No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, it is explained that consumers have the right to comfort, security and safety when consuming goods and/or services so as to generate satisfaction for consumers and business actors to avoid a loss. However, in reality at Laundry Cahaya it was found that there was a problem which resulted in losses suffered by consumers caused by the negligence of business actors in providing services and consumers felt that their rights were not being fulfilled by business actors. As for the main problem in this research, is how the legal protection for Light Laundry Consumers for Negligence of Business Actors Causing Consumer Losses and How to Settle for Negligence of Light Laundry Business Actors Causing Consumer Losses. The method used in this study can be classified into sociological legal research, which is a type of research conducted by going directly to the field using data collection tools in the form of interviews and questionnaires. Meanwhile, the nature of the writing that the writer uses is descriptive, namely the research method used to describe a condition and situation that is happening or is taking place towards a clearer and more detailed statement regarding the main research problem. The results of this research show that consumer protection is weak at Laundry Cahaya because consumer rights are not fulfilled which can be seen in the many losses experienced by consumers. The amount of compensation given by business actors is not in accordance with the losses experienced by consumers so that business actors are not fully responsible for the losses incurred.
