Abstract

Liquefaction occurs when the soil experiences a loss of shear strength along with an increase in pore water pressure, due to cyclic loads (earthquake loads) which are very fast and in a short time. The western part of Sumatra Island is in the collision area of the Australian Indian plate and the Eurasian plate so the island of Sumatra is known as one of the most active tectonics in the world. Riau Province is bordered by areas that are active in earthquakes such as West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Jambi. Pekanbaru City is in the middle of the three Provinces. This research was conducted at the Fly Over Jl. Tuanku Tambusai – Jl. Soekarno Hatta (SKA crossing) Pekanbaru City. At this location, a soil investigation was carried out using a tool in the form of a 3-point SPT test and from the investigation data, an analysis was carried out in the laboratory. The research objective was to analyze the potential for liquefaction on the Fly Over Jl. Tuanku Tambusai – Jl. Soekarno Hatta (SKA crossing) Pekanbaru City using SPT data and laboratory data. The results of the analysis based on laboratory data in this study showed that there was no potential for liquefaction at the bedrock peak acceleration (amax) of less than 0.3 g. Based on the SPT data, the FS value > 1 shows that the Fly Over Area for Jalan Tuanku Tambusai - Jalan Soekarno Hatta (SKA crossing) Pekanbaru City has no potential for liquefaction. From laboratory data, it was obtained that the most critical soil layer between each point for the maximum acceleration of the ground surface at the study site is 0.297 g found at BH-03 at a depth of 4.50 m - 5.00 m. These results are directly proportional to the results of the liquefaction potential analysis based on SPT data, the most critical FS value is found at BH-03 at a depth of 4.50 m - 5.00 m.
